2016-07-01

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

  • Yahshua's statement is clarified in

John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.“

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.“

  • In My name” can be understood to mean asking anything according to Yah’s will that is asked with an obedient heart.

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

  • Lusts in the Greek can also be translated wants, desires, or pleasures.

Psalms 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, Yahweh will not hear me:

Isa 59:1-2 Behold, Yahweh's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Matt 6:9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

  • The promise of Yah’s blessing is conditioned on obedience.

Deut. 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy Elohim.

Prov. 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
