Feast of Trumpets

Leviticus 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation

Numbers 29:1 - And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

  • The Hebrew name for this day is "Yom Teruah" which literally means "Day of Alarm or Day of Sounding".
  • 8643 teruw`ah {ter-oo-aw'} Meaning: 1) alarm, signal, sound of tempest, shout, shout or blast of war or alarm or joy

Numbers 10:1-5 Numbers 10:1 - And YAHWEH spake unto Moses, saying, 2 - Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. 3 - And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 4 - And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. 5 - When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

  • The word "Teruah" is used in the above verse "blow/sound the Teruah". Blow the alarm.

Numbers 10:6-10 Numbers 10:6 - When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. 7 - But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. 8 - And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. 9 - And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before YAHWEH your Elohim, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. 10 - Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your Elohim: I am YAHWEH your Elohim.

10 Days until Yom Kippur

Dan 5:27 Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

1Sa 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for Yahweh is a Elohim of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

  • As we search ourselves, and heed the call to repentance, we know that by faith in Messiah’s shed blood our sins are forgiven, and we can obtain “peace with Elohim” (Romans 5: 1, 6-9; 1 John 1: 7-9).
  • We know also that we have fellowship with Elohim the Father and Messiah the Son through His sacrifice and intercession as our High Priest in heaven. (I John 1:2-3; Hebrews 4:14-16).

1 Jn 1:2-3 1Jn 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 1Jn 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Yahshua Messiah.

Heb 4:14-16 Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  • HIs comming is concealed until the very time of its arrival so that it will find us "as is"
  • Either holy and righteous, or unjust and filthy. (Revelation 22:7)

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
